Community Events/Festivals Sometimes the best way to experience a destination is through the festivals and events inspired by the heritage and natural surroundings of the area. Quinte West hosts a number of events year-round that distinctly celebrate the joys of the season and the area's longstanding connection to land and water. Here is just a sampling of community events planned for this year:

QUINTE WEST HEALTHY HALF MARATHON
When: Coming in April
Where: Begins & ends at City Hall
What: Quinte West Healthy Half Marathon in support of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. Registration is $50 and offers a Half Marathon, 10k run/ walk, 5k run/ walk. Not up for 5k or longer? Join the Hospital Mile with the Mayor! Registration for the Hospital Mile is only $10. Racers are encouraged to register early to begin pledging. Top pledge earners are awarded great prizes! What: A day of family fun on Saturday May 16th 2020. Car show, midway fair, petting zoo, live entertainment, vendors and spectacular fireworks display!
BARKS BY THE BAY - CANINE FESTIVAL & TRADE SHOW
When: June 20 2020
Where: Centennial Park, Trenton, Ontario
What: 10th Annual canine festival held the last Saturday in May, showcasing many unique vendors, breeds, breeders, canine accessories, training aids & techniques, pet hospitals, pet food stores and groomers. Admission is free, but donations to the Quinte Humane Society are greatly appreciated. Demonstrations all day, including Hot Diggity Dogs, High Flying Canines and the Ultimate Air Dogs Canada! CANADA DAY
When: July 1st, 2020
Where: Centennial Park, Trenton, Ontario
What: Come and celebrate Canada's birthday in Centennial Park, Trenton. All day entertainment, vendor village, displays & demonstrations, activities for children and families, and a spectacular fireworks display. Hang around and watch an outdoor movie on a giant inflatable screen. Be sure to join in the 'Canada Day Eh!' community parade taking place from arena to amphitheatre beginning at 11am. Prizes in Youth, Adult & Group categories for best expressed Canadian Spirit!
BAY OF QUINTE BOAT CRUISE;
NORAMPAC SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
When: Every Wednesday & Sunday Evening from July 2nd through to August 31st from 6:30 - 8:30pm
Where: Amphitheatre, Centennial Park, Trenton
What: Free performances for the community. Music in the park, bring your blanket or lawn chair and come out to enjoy various local artists!
TRENTON BIG BAND FESTIVAL
When: July 18 2020
Where: Centennial Park, Trenton, Ontario
What: The City of Quinte West is bringing back the Trenton Big Band Festival. Saturday July 18th, join us for the Trenton Big Band Festival held at the Amphitheatre in Centennial Park, Trenton. More information available soon.

TRENTON SCOTTISH IRISH FESTIVAL
When: September 2020
Where: Centennial Park (Map It)
What: This annual festival celebrates the Celtic ancestry of the Bay of Quinte through traditional music, games, and fare. Take in the Friday night tattoo and revel with fellow festival-goers to the professional pipers and drummers and end-of-the day ceilidhs. A live performance follows the Tattoo. Tickets for the Friday night are $10 at the gate or online. Saturday, kick the festival off with a parade through the downtown, and take in the Heavy Events, Highland Dancing, Pipe & Drum Bands, vendor village, and live musical entertainment in the pavilion until the early morning hours! BAY OF QUINTE ROAD RACE CHALLENGE & TOUR
When: September, 2020
Where: Centennial Park (Map It)
What: The City of Quinte West in partnership with the Bay of Quinte Tourism is thrilled to bring back ‘The Bay of Quinte Road Race Challenge & Tour’ for it's second year! The event will be OCA (Ontario Cycling Association) sanctioned. This Race will include three levels of participation or distances. The route for the race portion of the event will be approximately 120km and will highlight rural Quinte West. This distance will be timed. The other two levels/ distances encourage healthy active living in the community and are 44km’s and 26km’s. These will appeal to leisure riders who are not necessarily up for the 120km’s or do not wish to race but rather take their time to enjoy the scenery. All distances begin and end in Centennial Park. BOOFEST - Halloween Party!
When: October 31st 2020 5:00 - 8:00pm
Where: Arena, Trenton, Ontario
What: Inviting all ghosts and goblins of Quinte West to the Annual BOOFEST Halloween Party! Tons of candy, ghost stories, colouring, toys and games. Event is free.
CHRISTMAS FANTASY OF LIGHTS
When: Last Saturday in November 2020 to January 2, 2021
Where: Fraser Park Trenton and Frankford Tourist Park (Map It)
